Our Story
One Grain of Wheat, Carrying Love Forward
Some stories are not ones we choose to begin, yet they can become the starting point of an entirely new journey.
Like many families, our founder welcomed her child with hope and excitement. Together, they dreamed about the future, made plans, and imagined all the possibilities that life had to offer.
Then, without warning, everything changed.
When her child was diagnosed with cancer, their family found themselves walking a road they had never imagined they would have to travel.
Through countless days of treatment, uncertainty, waiting, and simply being there for one another, we came to understand that families need more than medical care. They need someone willing to slow down, stand beside them, listen, and walk with them through the journey.
Although we eventually experienced the heartbreak of saying goodbye to a beloved child, we discovered that love does not end with loss.
Instead, that love became a new calling.
If the greatest gift a child leaves behind is love, then perhaps the most meaningful way to honor that life is not simply to hold on to the memories, but to allow that love to continue reaching other lives.
And so, The Grain of Wheat Companion Home was born.
We chose the image of a Grain of Wheat because we believe that love and life have the power to continue beyond what we can see.
A grain of wheat falls into the ground and, for a time, seems to disappear. Yet beneath the surface, new life is taking root. From one small seed, many more grains can grow.
We believe that genuine companionship can be a small beginning of hope for children with cancer and their families—a reminder that they are not alone, and that they can still experience the warmth, comfort, and belonging of a home.
We hope to walk alongside children with cancer, their siblings, and their caregivers—entering hospital rooms and homes, reaching out when a helping hand is needed, offering strength when the journey becomes exhausting, and sharing both laughter and tears along the way.
We invite you to become a seed of love with us.
We sincerely invite you to join hands with us to pass on love and nurture it into new seeds of hope—in this way, a small act of love can grow into something beautiful that touches the lives of many more people.

A Life of Love That Continues
In the winter of 2012, we welcomed Ethier, the son we had longed for so dearly. As the youngest in our family, he was our most precious treasure. From the day he was born, Ethier was always a healthy, vibrant child.
In the summer of 2020, six-year-old Ethier had just passed his taekwondo belt exam and was eagerly preparing to enter first grade. But that very summer, a sudden illness completely changed our family’s lives forever.
Ethier was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, an aggressive childhood cancer.
This tragic news shattered all our plans for the future and broke the heart of every family member, instantly plunging us into unprecedented pain and fear. Throughout those days, we wiped our tears while forcing ourselves to keep moving forward. We experienced the immense joy when routine scans showed the tumor shrinking, but also the agonizing heartbreak whenever results revealed the disease relentlessly spreading.

Christmas Gifts
Let’s Make a Wish for Gift
Every Christmas, we let each child with cancer make a wish for a gift they want and then personally deliver it to their hospital room. We hope the children receive more than just a gift; we hope they feel love and warmth in this season filled with warmth and peace.

Ward Care Visits
During the hospitalization of children with cancer, we arrange regular care visits to provide companionship and support throughout the treatment process, helping them move forward together.

Creative Class
Let’s Play with Art
Every month, we go into the bedside classrooms of pediatric cancer wards to offer a variety of lively, fun, and creative courses, providing children and caregivers with a stress-relieving, relaxing, joyful, and creative environment.
